The Story

Tasting Notes

A new-age Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon (blended with Malbec), expressing all the regional hallmarks. It is a bright, fruit-forward, earlier-drinking style with attractive savory nuances from Vasse Felix’s quality-led, minimal intervention winemaking approach.

Bright blood plum and blackcurrant fragrance lift from the glass, layered with graphite, dried winter herbs— bay and sage—violets, and spicy charcuterie. Subtle notes of mushroom and Mexican chocolate add complexity.

A soft and fresh entrance reveals bright fruit and a dusty tannin build, finishing powdery and dry. Elegant yet juicy acidity carries fresh blackcurrant, with a hint of native potpourri lingering over a solid tannin base.

95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot

Critical Acclaim

94pts James Suckling
Abundant black-fruit, cedar, and crushed stone aromas; creamy texture with "finely tuned, generous tannins".

92pts Wine Enthusiast

A "total bargain" for the quality; richer and denser than previous years with seaweed savoriness and a dark chocolate underbelly.
