From France’s Haute Vallée de l’Aude is a serious yet approachable expression of cool-climate Pinot, grown in the foothills of the Pyrenees. It pours a bright ruby red and opens with aromas of freshly picked raspberries, cherry, and a subtle savory leesiness. On the palate, it delivers fleshy red fruit and jam, supported by fine tannins and juicy acidity, giving it both lift and structure. Aged in large, old oak barrels, the wine gains texture without overt woodiness, preserving its purity and freshness. It’s delicious on its own or paired with herby sausage casserole, grilled lamb, and is also great served slightly cool—around 61–64°F.
