The Story

Critical Acclaim

The 2022 vintage has earned 94 points from Ken’s Wine Guide, praised for its smooth texture and complex flavor profile. It also received 92 points on CellarTracker and was described by winemaker Chris Figgins as his “favorite Figlia to date.”

Tasting Notes

Crafted from Merlot and Petit Verdot grown at the Figgins Estate Vineyard, this wine pours a deep garnet hue and opens with aromas of baking spices, cinnamon, ripe boysenberries, cranberry sauce, and menthol. The palate is full-bodied and dimensional, beginning with a sultry softness that expands into rich notes of warm raspberry cobbler, black cherry, and marionberry, accented by hints of stone dust, tobacco, and dried herbs. Aged for 22 months in 11% new French oak and 89% once-filled and neutral barrels, it achieves a silky, balanced finish with integrated acidity and seamless mouthfeel. Its structure and depth make it ideal for pairing with slow-cooked short ribs, mushroom risotto, duck confit, or grilled eggplant with miso glaze, while its elegance complements hard cheeses like aged Gouda or Comté.
