The Story
Tasting Notes
Plan de Dieu which means "God's Plan" is one of the 18 Cotes-du-Rhone named villages. These wines are a step up from the basic Cotes-du-Rhone Villages designation, which itself is a step up from the plain Cotes-du-Rhone designation.
It is a Southern Rhône red blend made primarily from Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan, a classic mix that delivers deep garnet color, fresh blackberry and blackcurrant aromas, and a savory, dense palate with refreshing acidity. Attractive aroma full of blackberry, black cherry and spice along with hints of mint and other dried herbs and earth. Tasting reveals a smooth, savory and delicious medium to full-bodied wine with great structure. All the same notes from the nose appear in the mouth along with some black pepper and licorice.
