For many Rose wine lovers, Provence's pale-pink, minerally beauties are the benchmark. Famous producers like Miraval, d'Esclans, Domaine Ott ... go for $25 and up but we're willing to bet that you'll love this fantastic wine from Domaine la Colombe just as much, possibly more considering you can get 2-3 bottles of it for each one of those other guys.
Domaine la Colombe's vineyards are sustainably farmed in the Coteaux Varois en Provence AOP, which is one of Provence's newest growing region designations, next to the prestigious Sainte Victorie district. Colombe's dry Rose is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Refreshing, succulent and well balanced this brisk Rose has aromas of small berries, frozen raspberries and sweet spices. As with all good blends, the sum is greater than the parts and creates an elegant, berry flavored concoction which has the characteristic Provence dryness, freshness, floral notes and minerality , with enough fruit to create a lively presence on the palate.
